Situated on more than 30 sloping acres overlooking Kahului Bay in Kailua-Kona, Fairfield Hawaii at Kona Hawaiian Resort is constructed in a style reminiscent of old Hawaii. Every detail of this luxury timeshare resort was designed to recreate the charming island ambiance found in the 1930s, while still providing the comforts and amenities of the times. Units: two-bedroom 1156 square foot bungalows are complete with air conditioning, fully equipped kitchens, separate living and dining areas, a king bed and jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom, a queen bed in the guest bedroom, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living area. Sleeps 6.
RCI Gold Crown Award. The units at this resort are
really beautiful (and the presidential suites are AMAZING), with tropical décor and decadent views of landscapes
and waterfalls. Compare this price to the cost of a single hotel room.
The grounds are beautiful, with lush landscaping and waterfalls and
ponds throughout the resort. There are many activities for your
enjoyment, but Kauai has so much more to offer that you might not have
time for the naturally-filtered swimming pool or the hot tubs. Three Bedroom Presidential Unit: nearly 1600 square feet and sleeps 10 - there are two master bedrooms with king beds, and the third bedroom has two double beds (or one queen bed). There is also a sofa sleeper in the living room for added sleep space. There are three full bathrooms, one for each bedroom, and a washer/dryer in the unit. Two of the bathrooms have jacuzzi/whirlpool tubs that are big enough for two people. The kitchen in the presidential suite is gorgeous - granite countertops with barstools, stainless steel appliances, and it is fully equipped. The living room is very tastefully and elegantly decorated with plenty of space and a dining area.
Ka'Eo Kai Resort is a smaller, quiet resort (with HUGE units) nestled in winding paths, waterfalls, streams, gardens, and ponds, all overlooking Hanalei Bay. Two bedroom suites: Approximately 2030-2120 square feet, a queen or king-size bed in the master bedroom, two single or a double bed in the guest bedroom, a queen sleeper sofa in the living area, jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and private lanai. Sleeps 6. Ka'Eo Kai provides something for everyone, whether it's lounging by the pool, playing an early game of tennis, or hanging out in the clubhouse. If you really want to go Hawaiian, the resort offers hula lessons, lei making classes, and other fun activities for the entire family. Make the most of your Kauai vacation with a deep sea fishing excursion or helicopter tour of the island. One of the most popular tours is "The Best of Kauai." This tour includes a motorboat ride up the Wailua River to the lush Fern Grotto, a brief helicopter trip to see Kauai's famous waterfalls, and a visit to the Kilauea Lighthouse and National Wildlife Refuge.
FULL OCEAN VIEW! RCI Gold Crown Resort. Located in lush Princeville, this resort sits high on a cliff, with panoramic views of the ocean. The lanais are great for meals, while watching the multi-colored water below. Because this resort sits high above the ocean, you will have a gorgeous panoramic view. You can even see the Kilauea lighthouse from some of the units on the end, such as 109 and 110. Those units are available for check-ins on Thursday. We prefer Thursday for check-in because airfare is lowest on that day, as opposed to the weekends. Check-in days are Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The kitchen is a gourmet's delight, with a Jenn-Aire grill/oven, a full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. You can cook some great steaks right in the unit and serve with salad and fresh pineapple from the Farmer's Markets in Hanalei, which is north of Princeville, or in Kapa'a, which is south of Princeville. We take advantage of the kitchen by packing sandwiches for our day excursions to snorkel at Hanalei Bay. Breakfast is easy as well. We always have fresh island fruits and juices in the mornings, along with our toast and coffee. The kitchen has a coffeemaker, toaster, and all the kitchen gadgets you can imagine, including the very important pineapple corer. There are enough dishes for your entire family. The dining room has enough space for everyone and there are even a few barstools around the counter. Two Bedroom Units: 1579 square feet, two master bedrooms and two jacuzzi bathtubs with separate showers. The larger master has a private entrance onto the patio/lanai. The bedding configurations differ in the units - some have a king in one room, two twins or doubles in the second, some have two queens. The only difference between the two bedroom deluxe and two bedroom penthouse is that the penthouse is on the top floor and has a full ocean view guaranteed. The resort has many activities, including lei making and various crafts for children and adults. The pool is really beautiful and the ocean view is spectacular from the lounge chairs. The hot tub is emptied every morning and heated for the day. There are beautiful statues of sea creatures spouting water that surround the pool and there is some amazing landscape around the entire resort. The area behind each lanai has grass and flowers. There is much to see and do on Kauai. You can snorkel at Hanalei Bay; hike to the Napali Coast; drive along the rim of Waimea Canyon (mark Twain referred to this beautiful canyon as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific”); view waterfalls; shop at Coconut Marketplace; go to Farmers' Markets; take a helicopter tour; kayak down Wailua river; hike to a secret waterfall; go to a luau-- there are two great ones on the island; have dinner at the famed Princeville Hotel; shop in Hanalei, home of Puff the Magic Dragon; eat at Bubba's Burgers; shop at the new Costco store in Lihue; take a snorkel boat ride to a calm snorkel spot, where dolphins greet you on the trip. We saw hundreds of spinner dolphins jumping next to our boat, as if they were guiding us there. This is pure luxury on the most beautiful Hawaiian island. You won’t want to leave. Take a few weeks to enjoy the island fully, but plan on some relaxed afternoons on the lanai, enjoying that gorgeous ocean view.
